Myanmar conducts elections amid major humanitarian crisis

Myanmar heads to polls as it battles humanitarian crisis driven by an intensifying civil war and repeated natural disasters. The country was previously facing a political crisis where in a 2021 coup, military ousted an elected civilian government led by Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi.
