Myanmar earthquake moved ground up to 20 ft sideways, shows satellite pic
The 7.7-magnitude earthquake in Myanmar, which claimed over 3,700 lives, caused sideways displacement of up to 20 feet in some places, NASA said. In NASA's satellite pic, red dots indicate northward motion and blue ones show southward movement of ground. The earthquake likely resulted from strike-slip motion along Sagaing Fault, at interface between Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates, NASA said.
