Myanmar junta to release 700 prisoners from Yangon's Insein jail
Myanmar's authorities will free around 700 prisoners from Yangon's Insein jail today, prison chief Zaw Zaw told Reuters. The release would include some of the thousands of people detained for opposing military rule. More than 5,200 people are reportedly being held in detention and 883 people have been killed since the junta ousted Aung San Suu Kyi on February 1.
