N Korean caught in South Korea after crossing armed border

A North Korean individual was captured after he crossed the heavily fortified border, said the South Korean army. A statement by Joint Chiefs of Staff said that the person was found near a checkpoint on eastern side of the Demilitarised Zone and a search operation was launched. Cases of defection from North to South Korea had reduced following COVID-19 pandemic.
