Rafael Nadal defeated Roger Federer in the final of Wimbledon 2008 in the match that lasted for four hours and 48 minutes. This was Nadal's maiden Wimbledon title. He won the match with a scoreline of 6-4, 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-7(8), 9-7. Nadal, 38, has recently announced that he will retire after 2024 Davis Cup finals.
