SEBI has announced that investors across all categories will be allowed to short sell, but naked short selling won't be permitted in Indian securities market. All stocks that trade in futures and options segment are eligible for short selling, SEBI said. Naked short selling refers to practice of shorting shares without first borrowing or ensuring that they can be borrowed.
