Actor Nana Patekar, who passed away aged 75 on Thursday, was also a national-level rifle shooter. He began pursuing the sport in his 40s. He won silver in the 300m big-bore event at the 2004 National Shooting Championships and a team bronze representing Maharashtra in 2007. He continued to participate in National and State-level shooting events till into his 60s.
