NASA allows astronauts to take smartphones into space

NASA has approved astronauts carrying personal smartphones on upcoming crewed missions, saying it will enable more natural storytelling from orbit. Astronauts may use approved iPhones and Android devices. A NASA official said the images help families connect with distant missions and allow inspiring visuals to be shared worldwide. The policy will first apply to the Crew-12 and Artemis II flights.
