NASA balloon mission captures images of electric blue clouds

A recent long-duration balloon mission by NASA has captured images of a thin group of seasonal electric blue clouds. Made of ice crystals that glow bright blue or white when reflecting sunlight, the clouds form above the Earth's polar regions. The data about the clouds may help scientists understand turbulence in the atmosphere, oceans, and other planetary atmospheres, NASA said.
