NASA mission to 'touch' the Sun completes first Venus flyby

NASA's Parker Solar Probe has completed its flyby around planet Venus in its journey towards the Sun. Launched on August 12, the spacecraft will make six more Venus gravity assists to take it within 6.1 million kilometres of the Sun. The seven-year mission is named after astrophysicist Eugene Parker, who in 1958 first predicted the existence of the solar wind.
