NASA paid people $18,000 to spend 70 days in bed

NASA reportedly paid $18,000 to subjects who spent 70 days on a bed tilted downward at a six-degree angle in 2013. Founded on July 29, 1958, NASA recruits volunteers to lie in bed to study effects of long-term space flights on astronauts. NASA also modified a shower device to ensure subjects don't stand to shower or use the bathroom.
