NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter spacecraft, which is currently orbiting the moon, has captured a new Earthrise image. The composite image shows the Earth rising above the lunar horizon with a prominent view of the Sahara Desert, the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of South America. It reportedly resembles Earth's famous ‘Blue Marble’ image taken by the crew of the Apollo 17 spacecraft.
