NASA's Curiosity finds organic molecules never seen before on Mars

NASA's Curiosity Mars rover has identified 21 carbon-containing molecules in a rock sample collected in 2020, seven of which have been detected for the first time on Mars. It remains unknown whether these organic molecules were created by biologic or geologic processes. Their discovery, however, offers renewed confirmation that ancient Mars had the right chemistry to support life, NASA said.
