NASA's sun-studying spacecraft captures space rainbow
NASA’s Polarimeter to Unify the Corona and Heliosphere (PUNCH) mission captured rainbow-like phenomenon in space, showing colourised zodiacal light created by sunlight reflecting off dust particles orbiting Sun. Its WFI-2 instrument took images through all three of its polarisers in succession for the first time to create this view. The PUNCH studies how Sun’s outer atmosphere becomes solar wind.
