NASA's Voyager 1 to reach one light-day from Earth on November 18

NASA said Voyager 1 will be about 16.09 billion miles from Earth on November 18, the distance light travels in a day, so a command will take 24 hours to reach it. NASA lost contact with Voyager 1 on October 18 and 19 before the signal returned on October 20. Engineers are investigating why one group of thrusters went offline.
