NASA selects GE Aerospace to advance sustainable engine tech

NASA awarded GE Aerospace a contract to further develop the Hybrid Thermally Efficient Core (HyTEC) program. The program aims to develop next-gen commercial aircraft engines that are more fuel-efficient and emit fewer emissions than current engines. Phase 2 will mature technologies for a core demonstrator and also expand to include 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) combustion evaluation.
