NASA shares pic of Earth appearing 'bathed' in orange light

NASA took to Instagram to share an image of Earth, captured from the International Space Station, appearing to be "bathed" in orange light. "This is due to a phenomenon called airglow, where molecules in the upper atmosphere release energy after being excited by radiation from the Sun," the agency said. NASA added, "This glow can be a variety of colours."
