NASA testing reusable devices to handle periods in space

NASA and partners are assessing medical-grade silicone menstrual cups that need minimal storage space, cut months of waste and withstand pressure, making them suitable for spaceflight. It'd go under microgravity tests on insertion, cleaning, removal, life-support compatibility, fluid behaviour, sterilisation and hormonal suppression. Testing aboard ISS will be required before deep-space flights.
