NASA's Voyager 1 resumes sending updates from 24 billion km away

NASA's Voyager 1, the most distant man-made object in the universe, has resumed sending updates to Earth after five months. The spacecraft, which is 24 billion kilometres away, had stopped sending updates due to chip malfunction. NASA rewrote Voyager's software code in a bid to fix the issue, sent the updated code on Thursday and received a response on Saturday.
