Nashik astrologer, arrested for rape, was also named in 2022 suicide case

Nashik-based self-styled astrologer Ashok Kharat, arrested for rape and multiple other charges, has now been linked to an abetment-to-suicide case. In 2022, a 37-year-old man died by suicide in Shirdi, accusing Kharat of harassment and threats. Police are now reopening the case after his brother claimed Kharat's name was removed from the chargesheet and he was given a clean chit.
