Nathuram Godse's statue unveiled on Gandhi Jayanti

Mahatma Gandhi's assassin Nathuram Godse's statue was unveiled on the occasion of Gandhi's birthday by a Hindu outfit Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha in Meerut on Sunday. Adding that there can be "no better day", an official of the outfit said, "we exercised extreme caution and unveiled the statue on Gandhi Jayanti". The outfit reportedly observed Gandhi's birthday as 'Dhikkar Divas'.
