National Crime Records Bureau records stats of cruelty to animals

In a first, move, the National Crime Records Bureau recorded statistics pertaining to the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, with 9,039 cases registered in 2024 and 35 cases in Delhi. The report mentioned that 10,312 persons were arrested under the law in the year with a chargesheet rate of 96.7 percent, and a conviction rate of 80.5 percent.
