National Institute of Hospitality to be set up to boost tourism

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the establishment of the National Institute of Hospitality by upgrading the existing National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) in her Budget 2026 speech. "It will function as a bridge between academia, industry, and the government," she said. This was one of the proposals to boost the tourism sector.
