National traders' body CAIT distances itself from Oct 2 'No UPI Day' protests

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has denied reports claiming that it called for or endorsed a nationwide "No UPI Day" protest on October 2. It said the protests announced by regional traders' bodies shouldn't be attributed to the national traders' body. The protests oppose a 0.4% MDR on specified person-to-merchant UPI transactions above ₹2,000, effective October 15.
