Navy sailor who underwent sex-change surgery alleges torture

Manish Giri, who was dismissed from the Indian Navy after he underwent a sex-change surgery to become a female, has said he was "mentally harassed and kept in a psychiatric ward for six months". A man who was earlier considered fit for the Navy is now deemed unfit "because of an organ change," the former sailor added.
