Naxal-hit village in Chhattisgarh gets electricity for first time

Timenar village in Naxal-affected Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh, has got electricity for the first time, officials said on Sunday. "All 53 households in the village...have been electrified for the first time after 77 years of independence," a government statement said. It signals the beginning of a new era of governance in Bastar's remote regions, Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai stated.
