NCERT adds 'economic background' as factor for discrimination in new Class 8 textbook

NCERT has added 'economic background' as a factor for discrimination, alongside caste, religion, race, gender, disability and other traditional identity markers in the new Class 8 Social Science textbook. The text explains that children from economically disadvantaged families can face prejudice and unequal treatment based on appearance, gender, sexuality, or other personal characteristics.
