NCERT apologises for content on 'judicial corruption' in Class 8 book after SC's criticism

The NCERT has apologised for including "inappropriate material" on "judicial corruption" in the Class 8 social science textbook after criticism by the Supreme Court and has halted the book's distribution. It said the error was "purely unintentional" and that the book will be rewritten. CJI Surya Kant had called it a calculated move to defame the judiciary.
