NCERT introduces section on SIR exercise in Class 9 textbook

NCERT has introduced a section on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in its Class 9 Social Science textbook. Through the SIR exercise, the Election Commission "ensures that no eligible citizen is left out and no ineligible person is included in the electoral roll", the section states. The chapter also highlights challenges to free and fair elections.
