NCLAT sets aside ₹301-crore CCI penalty on Grasim Industries

NCLAT on Tuesday set aside a ₹301.61 crore penalty imposed by the CCI on Grasim Industries. The CCI had originally imposed the penalty in 2020, accusing Grasim Industries of abusing its dominant position in the viscose staple fibre market. The NCLAT said the firm was not given an adequate opportunity to defend itself and ordered a fresh hearing.
