NCP elects Ajit Pawar as leader of party in Maharashtra assembly

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has elected Ajit Pawar as the leader of the party in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. Furthermore, Anil Patil has been reappointed as the chief whip. The appointments were made a day after Mahayuti, which comprises the BJP, the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar's NCP, won the Maharashtra Assembly elections.
