NDMC exempts painting, plastering from building permits

NDMC issued a public notice on October 22 listing works exempt from building plan approval under UBBL-2016. Plastering, painting, flooring, re-roofing, door/window alterations, and certain public utility structures under 25 sq metres need no permits. Exemptions exclude unauthorised construction or floor additions. The move follows NDMC chief's concern over residents seeking unnecessary permissions due to lack of clarity.
