Nearly 1/3 Lok Sabha MPs from 2009 have criminal records

Analysing the affidavits of the MPs elected in 2009, the Association for Democratic Reforms and National Election found that 1/3 Lok Sabha MPs have criminal records. Out of 162 MPs that have criminal cases, 76 have cases like murder, kidnapping and robbery against themselves and some of these cases are pending for ten years and more.
