Nearly 60% of Indian states prone to earthquakes: Govt data

Nearly 60% of Indian states are prone to earthquakes of different intensities, according to data shared by Earth Sciences Ministry. The areas that come under Zone V, which is considered the most seismically active region, include parts of J&K, Himachal Pradesh's western part and Uttarakhand's eastern part. Areas that come under Zone IV include Delhi, parts of UP and Sikkim.
