Nebraska's Monowi village has only one resident since 2004
In Nebraska's Monowi, the world's smallest village, Elsie Eiler is its sole resident. The village was home to 123 people in 1930 with the population dwindling over the years. In 2000, Elsie and her husband, Rudy, were the only residents with the latter passing away in 2004. A survey in 2020 recorded 86-year-old Elsie as the sole resident of Monowi.
