Need for RT-PCR tests for healthy people travelling in India may be removed: ICMR

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Tuesday issued an advisory to "optimise" RT-PCR testing and increase the availability of testing amid a surge in COVID-19 cases. "The need of RT-PCR test [for] healthy individuals undertaking inter-state domestic travel may be completely removed," said ICMR. All asymptomatic domestic travellers must follow COVID-19 appropriate behaviours, it added.
