Nehwal refuses to play national c'ships match due to poor surface

Defending champion Saina Nehwal refused to play her opening singles match of Senior National Badminton Championships in Guwahati, citing a "poor playing surface". Saina was scheduled to play Shruti Mundada in a pre-quarterfinal clash. "The wooden planks came out at a couple of places after Sindhu played her match. So they are now going to fix it," Parupalli Kashyap revealed.
