Nepal asked China for early warnings months before flash floods but didn't get adequate data

Nepali and Chinese officials met in Kathmandu in May, three months before flash floods which have claimed over 900 lives, to discuss disaster risks, reported Reuters. Later, Nepal reportedly said it didn't get as much data as it wanted from China on glacier movements and water levels. However, China said it had shared information with Nepal "in a timely manner".
