Nepal govt to formally apologise to Dalits for the first time

Nepal’s newly formed government, headed by Prime Minister Balendra Shah, announced it will, for the first time, issue a formal apology to Dalits and other historically marginalised groups within 15 days. The move is part of Shah’s 100-point reform agenda aimed at addressing systemic inequalities and advancing social justice and reconciliation. Dalits comprise roughly 13% of Nepal’s population.
