Nepal has not banned import of Indian mangoes, says govt

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare dismissed reports that claimed that Nepal has banned the import of Indian mangoes, calling them "factually incorrect and misleading". It said Nepal clarified on June 10 that imports remain permitted, subject to phytosanitary requirements. Since January 2026, India has exported 149 mango consignments totalling 2,005 metric tonnes to Nepal, it added.
