Nepal introduces 2-day weekly holiday to tackle fuel crunch amid West Asia war
The newly-elected Nepal government has announced a two-day weekly holiday (Saturday and Sunday) for government offices and educational institutions to address the petroleum shortage triggered by the West Asia war. Earlier, Nepal followed a six-day work week. To compensate for the reduced working days, government office hours have been extended from 9 am (earlier 10 am) to 5 pm.
