Nepal may seek electricity from India to cover shortfall after deadly flash floods

Nepal may seek electricity from India to cover any shortfalls after Wednesday's deadly flash floods knocked out about 8% of its total generation capacity, the country's energy ministry said. The floods, triggered by a glacial collapse, have damaged nearly 360 megawatts of capacity, mostly hydropower. Notably, Nepal exports hydropower to India during summer and imports electricity in winter.
