Nepal observes national mourning for 1,300+ flood deaths

Nepal is observing a national day of mourning for more than 1,300 people killed in flash floods, with government offices and missions abroad flying the national flag at half-mast. The day marks the 13th day of mourning in Hindu tradition, when prayers are held for the deceased. No government programmes are being organised as rescue operations continue in flood-hit areas.
