Nepal observes national mourning for flood victims
Nepal declared September 7 a national day of mourning, 13 days after flash floods struck Rasuwa and adjoining districts on August 26. Over 1,340 people died, nearly 5,000 remain missing including 589 foreigners. Around 32,000 families were displaced in the floods. Search and rescue operations continue, with teams from India also assisting Nepali teams.
