Nepal seeks India, China-led system after demanding compensation for deadly floods

Nepal Prime Minister Balen Shah has proposed a Himalayan Climate Resilience Mechanism, led by India, China and Nepal, weeks after it demanded compensation from India, China and US after the deadly Nepal floods. The mechanism would involve sharing satellite data and expertise, monitor dangerous glacial lakes and strengthen joint early-warning systems. Over 1,400 people died in the Nepal floods.
