Nepali Gorkhas will continue to be recruited under Agnipath: MEA

External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi on Thursday said the Indian Army will continue to induct Gorkha soldiers from Nepal under the newly launched Agnipath recruitment scheme. "We have been recruiting Gorkha soldiers...for a long time and we look forward to continuing [it]," Bagchi said. The comments come amid apprehension from Nepal regarding the age-old practice.
