Netherlands' Cody Gakpo announces loss of unborn baby amid FIFA WC

Netherlands forward Cody Gakpo and his partner, Noa van der Bij, announced that their unborn son had died during pregnancy. Taking to Instagram, Noa wrote, "Thank you for your love and support. Elijay Raphael Gakpo," while Cody said, "This is an incredibly difficult time for our family." Gakpo is part of the Netherlands squad at the FIFA World Cup 2026.
