Netherlands reach Euro quarter-finals for the 1st time since 2008

Netherlands qualified for the quarter-finals in an edition of Euros for the first time since 2008 following a 3-0 win against Romania in the round of 16 stage of Euro 2024. Donyell Malen, who had scored an own goal in Netherlands' previous Euro 2024 match against Austria, recorded a brace against Romania in the 83rd and 93rd minute.
