New ant species named after British rock band Radiohead

A new species of fungus-farming ants, found in Central and South America, has been named after the British rock band Radiohead as one of the species' discoverer wanted to honor the band's music. The ant species, called Sericomyrmex radioheadi, have bodies that are covered with a white, crystal-like layer, whose functioning and chemical composition is still unknown.
