New Axis Bank CEO's basic pay more than Shikha Sharma's at ₹3.6 cr

Axis Bank shareholders have approved a basic salary of ₹3.6 crore for Amitabh Chaudhry, who will take over as CEO from January 1, 2019. This is higher than the basic salary of ₹2.91 crore paid to outgoing CEO Shikha Sharma during last fiscal. Notably, Chaudhry received a total remuneration of ₹6.9 crore as HDFC Life's MD and CEO in 2017-18.
